Arthrosis-knee symptoms, diagnosis, treatment

Gonarthrosis or arthrosis of the knee joint is a disease that cannot be completely cured.knee arthrosisHowever, modern medicine has learned to stop the pathological destruction of human body tissues. Using effective treatment, doctors:

  • relieve the pain of their patients;
  • eliminates discomfort while driving;
  • slows the progression of the disease;
  • significantly improves the quality of life of people who apply it.

What is knee arthrosis?

The disease has several names for knee damage. It is often referred to as gonarthrosis, osteoarthritis deformans (DOA) and even arthritis, although the latter is more commonly used for rheumatoid pathology.

The disease is progressive, therefore, without professional help, it often leads to serious complications. As a result of its travel, the cartilage tissue lining the surface layer of the joint is affected. This causes capsule dysfunction and the appearance of painful sensations.

According to one theory, knee arthrosis arises from increased life expectancy. According to this theory, a person aged 50 and above does not yet feel old and continues to be active at the same level. However, the connection failed, as they depleted the resources provided by nature.

Why does gonarthrosis develop?

Limited mobility makes it difficult to walk, run and move freely. Not accustomed to this, one considers sanctions as punishments. With increasing pathology of the musculoskeletal system, even simple steps are difficult. After 50 years, the disease develops in every second person. The most common causes of anomalies other than age -related disorders:

  • leg fractures affecting the knee joint area;
  • knee dislocation, failure or damage to the menisci;
  • inflammation of the joint capsule (rheumatoid pathology, gout, ankylosing spondylitis and others);
  • failure of metabolic processes, joint weakness of a congenital nature;
  • hereditary factors, genetic predisposition.

Gonarthrosis tends to occur in an overweight older woman and a younger man who is injured while exercising.

Pathological symptoms

The disease does not appear suddenly. Negative symptoms are initially mild and worsen over time. The almost invisible knee pain while walking becomes more intense with increased activity, climbing stairs. Apparently this is indicated by the discomfort that arises from not moving for a long time.

The body seems numb, and at the beginning of its movements tries to adapt freely to the new load. Once a person "disperses", the unpleasant symptoms of the disease disappear, and the knee returns to normal movement. This is when you need to see a doctor for an examination. By ignoring the diagnosis, a person puts himself in great danger.

Gradually, the symptoms become more pronounced:

  • the pain becomes constant, now not disappearing during physical exercise;
  • movement distance becomes sparse, knees limited, swollen and enlarged.

Doctors say that going to the clinic at an early stage opens up a good opportunity to get treatment. The disease can be stopped without the use of expensive methods and drugs. With each new day of inactivity, the risk increases. In stage III, it is almost impossible to neutralize serious symptoms.

Diagnosis of gonarthrosis

During the initial appointment, the specialist listens to the patient’s complaints, explains the symptoms, examines the knee and directs the patient to an x-ray. In the first stage of change, there are no external signs, in stages II and III:

  • bone contours become rougher;
  • the joint capsule undergoes a deformation change;
  • the axis of the limb is bent, and movement becomes restricted.

On palpation, irritation is often heard, it is necessary to move the patella in a transverse direction. The pain becomes more pronounced. Thanks to the X-ray examination, you can clarify the diagnosis. Images make it possible to assess the degree of change, to distinguish the disorder from other pathologies.

Treatment of knee arthrosis

When gonarthrosis is detected, an integrated approach to treatment should be used. Only in this case is possible a continuous improvement. Here, an individual therapy plan is compiled for each patient, in which traditional approaches and modern author techniques are combined. When making a treatment plan for knee arthrosis, age, history, lifestyle and history of correction of musculoskeletal system disorders in the past are taken into account.

Drug therapy

Preparations for the treatment of arthrosis of the knee joint are selected from the following groups:

  1. anti-inflammatory drugs;
  2. pain medication;
  3. chondroprotective formula based on hyaluronic acid (the purpose is to restore the integrity of cartilage fibers in the damaged joint capsule).

Pharmaceutical companies produce various types of drugs to treat this disease. Among them are creams, ointments, gel formulations, tablets, solutions for injection. Medication is important when you need to quickly get rid of acute pain, reducing the effects of inflammatory processes. Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), steroids, and vasodilators are very popular.

Manual articular therapy

The gentle hand technique allows you to restore the natural anatomical relationship between subtle and physiological internal structures. Since arthrosis occurs due to knee overuse, displacement and abrasion of the cartilage, as well as incorrect projection of the position of the bones to each other, it is possible to improve the condition with the help of manual therapy.

Doctors separate the incorrect structures to unite them in the correct proportions. At the same time, the muscular corset and ligaments are strengthened. The founder of the clinic used the experience of Western colleagues and the methods of the author in his work. This allows you to achieve stable results that can last a long time.

Shock wave therapy

UHT is a successful method that has proven itself in Russian practice of treating gonarthrosis. The effect in the affected area is performed through special equipment that produces acoustic signals with an impulse frequency of 2-4 thousand per session. Thanks to hardware techniques, it is possible to activate blood circulation, increase metabolism in tissues, and stimulate the regrowth of bone and cartilage fibers.

Di-Tazin therapy

The author’s technique is based on a combination of photosensitization, multicomponent electrophoresis and gentle manual techniques. It aims to restore damaged joints, relieving pain and discomfort. This is complemented by kinesiological procedures, recording, physiotherapy, blockade injections, introduction of chondroprotectors and drugs based on hyaluronic acid into the joints. All this in the complex allows you to stop the destruction of the knee joint, relieve pain, and stimulate tissue renewal.

Plasmolifting

Safe and painless procedure. The doctor takes venous blood from the patient, processes it in a special centrifuge, and after separating the plasma, injects it into the damaged joint using a regular needle. It is recommended to attend a course session to incorporate the results. Plasmolifting helps relieve pain and inflammation, restoring joint capsule movement.

Knocking

Apply tape (self -adhesive tape) in a specially selected direction according to the location of the fibers of the damaged part. In case of illness, a lot of medicine is used. It relieves pain by relieving muscle tension. If swollen, lymphatic tape is applied, the rays of which are directed to the nearest lymph nodes.

Other treatments

At the clinic, specialists select profile orthopedic soles for patients with arthrosis of the knee joint. They help correct functional changes, relieve pain and even out the load on the legs. Strengthening the ligament apparatus through exercise therapy at home allows you to stabilize the position of the knee.
